Wedding Invitation Wording (no children) April 09 2015
For a number of reasons you may wish to limit the number of children at your wedding. If you do not wish to include children it is important to make this clear on the invitation to avoid confusion, but how to avoid causing offence? If you are designing and printing your own wedding stationery, we thought the following wording might help you to tactfully broach this subject on your wedding invitations and save the date cards.
Example wording 1:
While the venue we have chosen for our wedding is wonderful in many ways, it is not the most child friendly, which means we are limited on the number of children we can have join us on the day. We therefore regret that we will be unable to extend the invitation to << children’s names >>. We hope that you will see this as an opportunity to let your hair down and enjoy the party with us!
PLEASE let us know if this creates a problem for you, we would much rather find ways to accommodate you all rather than not have you join us on the day.
Example wording 2:
Due to the guest number restriction at our venue, we are unable to extend this invitation to your children. We hope that you will see this as an opportunity to enjoy an adult day, let your hair down and enjoy the party with us.
Example wording 3:
Not being blessed with children ourselves, we have chosen to make our wedding day an adult only occasion and hope you will see this as an opportunity to relax and have a good time us. We thank you for your understanding.
